The “Free Corner" at 7th and C Street: Good? Bad? Ugly? (25), by Dennis Dingemans

For much of a decade an urban recycling institution has been developing at the s.w. corner of the intersection of 7th Street and C Street.

Known as "The Free Corner" to a clientele that now comes from all over the city, it is a drop off site for unwanted objects and a pick up site for bargain hunters.

The site has its moments of blight but an informal collection of caretakers appears regularly to tidy it up and remove items too trashy to be of use. But almost everything placed at The Free Corner has found a taker within days.

Let us know what is your opinion of this Old North tradition and, especially, how its operation can be improved.
